The Malt & Mallow subscription box is like a much-needed girls day out with a few close friends. Everything about it is good-for-you. It’s restorative, indulgent and downright good for the soul! Better still, the Malt and Mallow Box comes in a cheerful pastel-colored box that makes you think of unicorns and rainbows.
The creator behind the Malt & Mallow Subscription Box had the simple idea of creating space where people could find a range of natural, organic and eco-friendly products in one place and have it delivered directly to their door. The contents are a mix of health and beauty brands some of which are new to the market and others that are more established. At first glance, it seems like an eclectic collection of products. It ‘s hard to pick up a theme or know where to start. But then as the weather cooled I found myself going back to the box for inspiration, comfort and a midwinter pick-me-up. I discovered that Malt & Mallow is like a box of Scandinavian Hygge. All cosy and filled with little pleasures.
I discovered that Malt & Mallow is like a box of Scandinavian Hygge. All cosy and filled with little pleasures.
So one cold, dark and stormy night, when the kids were away at a sleepover, I set about creating the perfect night of relaxation & chill and put the Malt & Mallow subscription box to the test.
The Mud Co Muscle Mud bath soak was a dream. Made from a mixture of salts, clays, Aloe Vera powder and peppermint essential oil, this mud mix did wonders for the skin and senses. Luxuriously, I soaked while watching Netflix and munching on the very decadent East Bali Cacoa Cashews and Popcorn. It was perfect. Afterwards, I gave myself a Mani/Pedi and coated the nails with the prettiest shade of feel-good Hanami pink polish. As with all Hanami nail polishes, my bottle of Pink Moon is certified cruelty free, vegan and 7-free (i.e. free of the 7-nasty toxins such as toulene, formaldehyde, camphor, etc.. regularly found in commercial nail polish brands).
As the rain continued to pour down the next morning, I quietly sipped on cup after cup of Pukka Matcha Green Tea enjoying the change from my usual coffee and black tea consumption. I have to admit that this is the first Matcha beverage I have enjoyed and I am pretty chuffed to now be a part of the Matcha-loving party.
The other two products in the Malt & Mallow Subscription Box that have rocked my winter are –
- the Hurraw grapefruit lip balm; it’s impossible to have the winter blues with this happy fragrance emanating from your lips, and
- the Alter Ego Dark Coconut Toffee Chocolate Bar; because every meal needs a sweet ending and Alter Ego have produced a rich, full flavoured chocolate that is so satisfying you only need one (or two, possibly three) pieces to hit the spot.
All in all, I think the Malt & Mallow Subscription Box would make a great gift for a close friend or treat for yourself. To try new things, break out of the ordinary and embrace some colourful goodwill.
